Unveiling Our Contest Judges, Part 1
If you've entered our contest in the past, you know how it works. You send off your story to an invisible judge, wait a few weeks until the workshop, and then watch as three winners are called to claim their prizes--maybe you are one of them. Later, everyone receives a manila envelope full of comments, critiques and praise... and that's the biggest prize of all--expert advice. But who are these experts you've been hearing from?
It's finally time to pull back the veil and meet our judges. These are the people behind the scenes, and it is my pleasure to introduce them to you.
Jan Cline is an author, speaker, and teacher from the Spokane area. She writes fiction and non-fiction. Her first novel is Emancipated Heart, a historical women's fiction set in WWII. She has some devotional books published through Barbour Publishing and is currently working on a three-book series set during America's depression era. She enjoys speaking for women's groups and for writer's groups and conferences.
Here is Jan's encouragement to young writers:
"Work hard at the craft and be willing to be edited."
