Together we will discover the roots of conflict, catch a glimpse of how it affects every level of your story, and unlock the secrets behind crafting a “page-turner”. With lessons, contests, games and much more, this workshop will provide both new and experienced teen writers with valuable information, practice and support. Often we have a "great idea" for a story. We dive straight into writing it, but all too soon we lose interest. Even if we do successfully make it to "The End", our story fails to capture the interest of readers. The solution to this problem is wrapped up in CONFLICT. However, compelling conflict is not comprised of a random sequence of fights, disasters, and difficulties. So how exactly do you craft compelling conflict that is strong enough to drive your story's plot, acts, and scenes?

Plan to join us on Friday evening, April 15, the night before THIS MEANS WAR for a “Night in Character”. This bonus session, only $5 extra when you register for the Saturday workshop, is a fun evening recapping the theme of our January Workshop subject: Characterization. Whether you are a returning student or new to Sharp Pens Workshops, you won’t want to miss this fun-filled night of dessert and review. (And feel free to dress up as a fictional character if you wish.)
NOTE: Just fill the registration form out once. Then when you proceed to payments, choose the 2 DAY event admission ticket instead of the SATURDAY ONLY ticket if you plan to attend both days.
